The Wedding Cake Process

Designing your wedding cake should feel like one of the most enjoyable parts of planning your celebration. From the first inquiry to the final delivery, each step is designed to be thoughtful, collaborative, and seamless.

At Rae Bakes, every cake is handcrafted with refined flavors and intentional design so that it feels like a natural part of your wedding day. Below are some steps of what you an expect for booking a wedding cake with us.

1. Submit Your Inquiry

The process begins with your inquiry. Once your date is confirmed, we’ll talk through your wedding vision, venue, guest count, and the design elements that inspire you.

2. The Tasting Experience

Couples are invited to enjoy a curated tasting featuring Rae Bakes’ signature flavors. This experience is designed to help you discover combinations that feel both memorable and meaningful for your celebration. Many couples find this to be one of their favorite moments of wedding planning.

3. Designing Your Cake

Your cake design draws inspiration from your wedding aesthetic, florals, textures, and overall atmosphere. Whether your vision leans toward timeless elegance, romantic florals, or modern simplicity, each cake is created to feel like a natural extension of the celebration. We collaborate with you, your planner, and your floral designer to ensure every detail feels beautifully cohesive.

4. Reservation & Booking

Once the design and flavors are finalized, a custom proposal will be prepared for you. While pricing is unique to your design and dependent on several factors, most of our couples invest a minimum of $700 for a three tiered cake.

Your wedding date is officially reserved once the proposal is accepted and the required retainer is received. From there, the design details are carefully documented to ensure everything is executed beautifully.

5. Creation & Delivery

As your wedding day approaches, your cake will be baked in small batches and finished by hand in our Atlanta-area studio.

On the day of your celebration, the cake is delivered to your venue and carefully set up and/or assembled on-site to ensure every detail is exactly as planned.

The result is a wedding cake that is as beautiful to experience as it is to taste.
